THEDREAMINACTION.com: Feedback from Venues on Foursquare

I especially like number 3. Nice feedback from your project. Loved to actually hear from some Foursquare guys if any of these are on their radar as future implementations.

I spoke with Tristan (foursquare's bizdev guy) last week and we should be very excited about what's coming on foursquare. These guys are doing such a good job to bring partnerships to the platform that really make a better experience for users. For example, their recent partnership with the BART in SF. Cool!

im biased because im working on a project in this area but:

    >>As in, the experience was an 8/10. Foursquare could begin to have a ranking system for all of the >>experiences their ‘players’ have. This could be fun for the game players for comparing experiences with >>friends and getting really solid ranking of venues

this works well but not at scale.... ratings tend to average out and you will be left with a lot of 3-4 star venues.

    >>Just like Wikipedia is successful solely because of the millions of people that edit content for free, >>Foursquare will be successful by using their community to curate it’s collected venue data.

again, im biased. after experiencing the human problem first hand, i think a hybrid model is best.

I'll agree with the hybrid model there usually does need to be some
    controlled curation. Wikipedia does.
